Message Magnets—to Post Notes
These individualized message magnets can post reminders—of homework assignments and important dates.

- Paint a lid from a frozen-juice can. Draw on a face.
- Cut out paper "ribbons." Write a message.
- Tape the ribbons to the back of the lid. Glue a magnet to it.
- Place the message magnet on the refrigerator, or give it as a gift.
Pocket Apron—to Hold Supplies
This apron is great when kids are working on projects that require pencils, tape, and other items.

- With permission, cut one leg from a pair of adult-sized jeans. Cut off all the seams. Cut a 7-inch-by-16-inch rectangle from the denim.
- Fold down ¼ inch along each edge of the rectangle. Use fabric glue to glue down the edges.
- For the apron strings, knot a pair of long shoelaces together to make one shoelace. Glue it to the long edge of the rectangle, placing the knot in the middle, as shown.
- For pockets, cut three 5-inch-by-5¼-inch pieces of felt. Glue the sides and bottom edges of each pocket to the rectangle.
Bookmark—to Mark Your Place

- Cut paper into rectangles.
- Use a hole punch to make designs in some of them.
- Glue a rectangle with holes onto one without holes.
